Went to see Thee Oh Sees play last night at the Horseshoe for NDY 2011, good times.

I went to see the Dum Dum Girls last night with my good friend Heidi at Lee's Palace. I was a little disappointed with Lee's sound checks there was a lot of noise/complications that really took away from the show. Other than that, wow, did they ever blow my mind. DDG played so well a long with Crocodiles and Colleen Green. Love love love.

Yet another music post.

Recently purchased a fish eye camera from Lomography, been snapping shots of everything and anything. I even love the fact that it's film, it's always a nice surprise seeing how some photos turn out. I've always been a fan of developing photos (digital or film), so when I'm fifty I can show my grandchildren my experiences or for even when a few years pass, I can look back and laugh. Lomography is such a great litte shop on Queen, definitely a place to check out. I got a great deal on the camera, it was cheap to begin with plus 25% off .. plus its red!
Again, with my binge shopping for records, I finally found The Bends which is really exciting, a lot of great songs on this record :) I also bought a new moleskine, time to put the other one away with the rest.
I'm gonna leave you with a Camera Obscura song:

I’M SORRY!
I know, I know, I know I haven’t posted anything in a while; I’ve been super busy with work and such. This summer has flew by, jeez!
So, my record player was acting up a couple months ago but luckily I brought it to Bay Bloor radio and they fixed it. I highly suggest going there if you have any issues with your devices, they have a place called the “record clinic”, where you bring in your record player and they check it out for free; the only thing you would have to pay for is any parts needed. I’ve been on a crazy record binge lately, photographed below are a few that I’ve picked up recently. I’ve been fiending for more and more lately it seems like I can’t go to the city or thrift store without coming home with a new one … or two. To make even worse, I even steal (borrow) some from my lovely boyfriend, I don’t know what to do with myself.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking lately about the upcoming year and it scares me a little (actually, a lot) that I’m not going back to school, that I’m done. Done!? This is the first time in twenty two years that I’m not going back to school in September. It’s hitting me pretty hard… but that’s enough of the whining, should I be excited? Hmmmmmm.

Here’s a list of the records, just in case some aren’t recognizable. I also put in brackets the tracks I’ve been addicted to on each album :)
1. Little Joy: Self Titled (Track 5: Unattainable)
2. Deer Hunter: Halcyon Digest (Track 8: Helicopter)
3. The Black Keys: Magic Potion (Track 3: You’re the One)
4. The Specials (Track 1: A Message to you Rudy)
5. Zeus: Say Us ( Track 5 & 6: Greater Times on the Way side – River by the Garden)
6. A Tribe Called Quest: The Low End Theory (Track 5: Verses from the Abstract)
